Our 2023 Achievements: A Year of Impact!

Greetings,

As we usher out 2023, it is with great pleasure that we share the strides we have taken in our ongoing commitment to shaping a brighter future for our young people.

Our mission remains steadfast: to Enable 1,000 Organisations and Develop 10,000 Leaders who have the knowledge, understanding and skills to engage, inspire, and create positive change, where collectively will be able to support 100,000 marginalised young people and their families by 2030.

A Legacy of Impact

For over a decade, we have been dedicated to enhancing the lives of marginalised young people. We hold the belief that providing tailored support, fostering secure spaces, and facilitating comprehensive development are essential components for empowering young individuals to fully engage in education, training, and employment.

The Audacious Ten-Year Mission

As some of you may already know, in 2020, we embarked on a visionary ten-year mission. The objective: to amplify our ongoing efforts by enhancing community resilience against the impact of youth marginalisation, serious violence, and child criminal exploitation.

Reflecting on 2023

In the past year, we have:

– Collaborated with 50 organisations,
– Empowered 55 leaders
– Offered opportunities to 828 individuals

This encompassed the creation of 39 employment positions and the successful training of 34 professionals with Level 3 qualifications.

While our journey is far from complete, we recognise the need for a strategic realignment to refine our priorities and fortify systems to monitor and track the desired impact by 2030.

Enabling 1,000 Organisations

Our primary focus has been on organisations dedicated to community safety, crime prevention, and violence intervention. To date, we have supported 50 such entities, facilitated the development of three Community Interest Companies (CICs), and injected over £125,000 into the local economy.

Developing 10,000 Leaders

This year saw a concerted effort in enhancing our Young Leaders Program and expanding our Level 3 qualifications.

We proudly:

– Supported 21 young leaders
– Accredited 34 professionals through Level 3 courses
– And enabled 39 employment opportunities across various domains.

Supporting 100,000 Young People

Our commitment to direct community engagement materialised through detached youth work sessions in Aston. Our detached youth work has allowed us to:

– Support 794 marginalised young people
– Accumulate over 5,123 contact hours
1,539 attendances through 164 sessions.

We also launched a Bleed control kit in the centre of Aston Park, to prevent life lost to knife crime.
The accomplishments detailed herein would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our small yet formidable team!

And the support of our esteemed funders. We extend our deepest gratitude to:

– Birmingham City Council (Commonwealth Games)
– Children in Need
– People’s Health Trust
– Postcode Local Trust
– Asda
– West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership
– And Birmingham Youth Service.

As we approach 2024, we want to share our gratitude for all the support we have received this year and reassure you all that we are still dedicated to improving the lives of more young people in the new year!

We invite you to stay tuned for the unfolding chapters of our journey in 2024!

Happy New Year!
