This is Sarah Rose’s Story.

“Hi my name is Sarah Rose,
I’m am a mother of 5 currently studying for a degree in youth work and community. I’m a support worker and currently working with ACT CIC as part of their detached youth work team.
I have just set up my own community interest company called Sharing Kam’s Cuddles in memory if my son Kamran who was murdered in 2007. I feel this is my purpose now, to help people and create a legacy in his name. We currently fundraise to help low-income families and children that have experienced any type of trauma.
Over the years we have helped many people from being able to help pay for a head stone for a little boy that was murdered to buying boxing equipment and lessons for a young boy in care.
We have also been able to take 34 families on a beach trip last summer and was able to hand out over 300 Easter Eggs to children in the care.
Currently I have begun fundraising to feed 100 families this Christmas 2022. So far, we have raised £90

Working with young people.

“I know it’s a clique but I feel children are the future and we need to help them have the best start in life so they become strong adults, ready for the world. Since I started doing detached youth work, I have met so many children who seen us as strangers to now seeing us as a role model.
They feel comfortable to open up to us.
I think the last 10 weeks we have created a safe space outside in the community for young people. Just knowing we are around and knowing they have support and guidance when needed, made these children feel more at ease to engage with us. It has been a natural process and not forced like other types of settings young people find themselves in.
Now it’s coming to an end I really am going to miss the young people we have bonded with but we have been able to sign post them to local community youth clubs around the area and hope they continue to have the same relationship with the youth workers there.
Working with young people is a pleasure to do. I don’t see it as work and I feel blessed that I am able to be a part of guiding and supporting the future generation.”
